At Radio Flyer, we specialize in making family memories both indoors and out. Our bikes for kids are no different! Capture all of those important moments in your child’s life, from first learning to ride to hitting the trail on a family vacation. Our toddler bike selection includes pedal-free children’s bikes that help little ones learn balance. These bikes are lightweight, come with an adjustable seat, and are available in different styles and colors. Once your child is ready to start pedaling, our 16-inch bike comes with removable training wheels. When they’re comfortable pedaling, simply take the training wheels off, and let them fly!

Adventure Bikes for Kids & Families

For older children, we offer kids’ bikes in 20-inch and 24-inch sizes. These come with front and rear linear pull brakes and a 7-speed gear shifter. With their thick tires, you can take our kids’ bikes out on the dirt, across the country on your next family vacation, or for a quick ride around the block. Parents can get in on the fun with our line of adult ebikes, which offer even more ways for parents and children to adventure together. Shop Radio Flyer today, and spend more time outdoors together.

Kids' Bikes Frequently Asked Questions

Are Flyer kids’ bikes good?

At Radio Flyer, we pride ourselves on the high quality of our kids’ bikes. From balance and beginner bikes to 16”, 20”, and 24” models, each one is constructed with quality materials and care. As such an overwhelming majority of our kids’ bikes have an exceptionally high rating from parents and customers like you.

When do kids learn to ride a bike?

Learning to ride a bike is an important milestone in every kid’s life, and while many children start to learn between the ages of 4 and 8, at Radio Flyer, we have models that can help children start even earlier. Our pedal-free balance bikes are low to the ground and offer the perfect opportunity for children to learn balance, coordination, and stability. Many of our balance bikes are suitable for children as young as 1.5 years of age.

How do you size a kid’s bike?

When looking for a kid’s bike, many recommend measuring a child’s height against a bike’s height. A child should be able to put their feet flat on the ground while on the bike without resting on the seat. They should also be able to use the handlebars and pedals comfortably. At Radio Flyer, each of our bike sizes have recommended age ranges that can provide the best guide as to what size bike your child needs.

How do you measure a kid’s bike?

Kids’ bikes are measured by the size of the wheel, not the height of the frame. 16” kids’ bikes are perfect for children 4-6, while 20” and 24” wheel sizes are better for older children.

Do kids have to wear bike helmets?

Many local towns, municipalities, and states have laws that require the wearing of a helmet for children under a certain age. It’s best to check with your local government. In the event that helmets are required, we offer a line of kids’ safety helmets that can keep your young ones safe while they ride.

Do kids’ bikes have a weight limit?

Our balance bikes for younger riders have suggested weight limits, but our 16”, 20”, and 24” kids’ bikes do not have weight capacity limits. However, some of our models have height limits for the safety, security, and comfort of your child.
